Complete Booking Form and Pay Deposit to Confirm Your Place on Retreat

We have a simple booking process which you can follow to book a place on one of our Retreats. Please ensure you have completed each step to confirm your place. Without a deposit we are unable to confirm your place.

1. Please pay your deposit to confirm your place on retreat.

We ask that you confirm your place on retreat by placing a deposit. We only accept bank transfers or paypal transactions.

Overseas students may find it more convenient to use paypal, but the choice is yours.

All deposits for retreats are £100.

Please email us (you can do this when you send in your booking form ) and we will send you our bank details.

2. Complete a booking form to confirm your place on retreat.

This helps us find out a little about yourself, your previous meditation experience if any, and if you have any physical or mental health conditions you are working through. It is important to ensure that you complete the booking form as honestly and completely as you can.

If you have been on retreat before then simply let us know of any changes in your circumstances since you were last with us.

3. Send us your booking form.

Once you have completed your booking, please email it back to us at bookings@theartofmeditation.org

We will contact you as soon as possible to let you know that you have a place on your chosen retreat. If the retreat you have chosen is fully booked, then we will suggest an alternative for you.

Below are some helpful guidelines on the events we host.

What is the arrival time for the retreat?

Our 7 day retreats have an arrival time of 5.30pm for a 6.30pm start.

 

Can I arrive to the retreat late?

If you are going to be late then you will need to arrange this with us prior to arrival. Please email us at bookings@theartofmeditation.org

 

What happens if I can’t make the first few day(s) of the retreat?

Lateness of more than a day would mean that you should select another retreat to attend. Our program has been carefully put together so missing too much of the first day would mean you would not catch up with the rest of the group. Please email us for further information.

 

When does the retreat end?

Our 7 day retreats end on the morning of the last day, usually by 10am.

 

Can I leave the retreat early?

If you can’t make the whole retreat then it is best to select another retreat to attend. Our program has been carefully constructed and each and every day is essential to the process of learning meditation. Please email us for further information.

 

Can I pay for my deposit by cheque?

We have now stopped processing cheques for deposits. You can pay for your deposit by bank transfer or paypal. Alternatively you can always deposit a cheque or cash directly into our account via one of the high street branches.

 

Can I pay for my retreat onsite by credit/debit card?

Unfortunately we are not able to accept credit/debit cards onsite at retreat venues. We can only accept cheques or cash.

 

Are the retreats silent, ie. no talking?

Our 7 day retreats are silent from the evening of the arrival day through to lunch on day 7. We believe a non-distracted space is the best environment to learn meditation in. There is no talking amongst the students allowed during most of your retreat. However questions can be directed to both the teacher and assistant if necessary at all times. There are regular opportunities to ask questions about the meditation practice during group sessions to help clarify the instructions being given.

 

Can I keep my mobile phone with me?

We ask everyone to hand in their mobile phones the evening of arrival. These will be handed back the evening before departure. An emergency contact number can be provided if you have a family emergency or sick relative to monitor whilst you are on retreat.
