A brilliant introduction to the Pali Suttas.
- Great Disciples of the Buddha: Their Lives Their Work Their Legacy by Hecker & Nyanaponika
A wonderful look into the lives of some of the key disciples of the Buddha and how they contributed to his dispensation.

- Old Path White Clouds: The lIfe Story of the Buddha by Thich Nhat Hanh
A great re-telling of the story of the Buddha

For an introduction into the Dzogchen practice;
- Precious Treasury of the Way of Abiding
A clear and concise transmission on this practice.

For a theoretical introduction on the principles of Chi Kung;
- The Root of Chinese Qigong: Secrets for Health, Longevity and Enlightenment, by Yang Jwing-Ming
For a basic grounding in Chi Gung and its associated principles such as Jing, Chi, and Shen.

For a general understanding of Taoism;

Beautifully presented and an excellent translation of this famous work.

For an introduction into Lucid Dreaming;
