Starting date 12th September 2026

This online programme is designed to be a journey and exploration of cultivating the bodies’ internal energy in preparation for higher spiritual practice. We will explore breath work and movement in the course.

This follows on from the self-healing meditation teachings offered in the Art of Self-Healing programme.

Starting a new series of curated online programmes drawing on the large breadth and depth of material recorded from retreats over the years, presenting them in a newly accessible way, adding and developing aspects of the Dharma and teachings that Burgs shares.

Introduction to developing your inner energetic system.

We have made the decision to offer our curated online programmes on donation.

We want to support your efforts towards developing your spiritual practice. So with this in mind, watch the following video message from Burgs.

The Course Syllabus

INTRO LESSON

Exercises to help develop a better sitting posture, which prepares the body with sitting for longer periods of time.
Laying the ground for your meditation practice with Mountain Lake Sky meditation.

WEEK 1

The first week of the course will focus on resetting the nervous system. Before we introduce practices to enhance and build our energy, we first learn how to decompress and settle an overworked system. This is done by using a simple breathing practice, as well as introducing you to the go-to chi kung practice that I teach on all of my retreats.

WEEK 2

Having started the process of settling the nervous system in preparation for the work ahead, we will introduce the standing postures, one of the ‘Four Pillars’ of Internal Alchemy. With this we provide more movement exercises to help work out the body.
Alongside this we will develop our exploration into breathwork, through a guided workshop on ‘Circular Breathing’.

WEEK 3

Next we will introduce and explain the theory behind Dan Tien, the core energetic centre in Internal Alchemy. The theory and context of this key aspect will be brought to life through a guided meditation, while we will continue to develop our breathwork.

WEEK 4

This week we introduce another of the Four Pillars of Internal Alchemy – Eagle’s Claw Chi Kung. Burgs will guide you through the various steps of this routine as a means of tonifying and building your subtle energetic system. Alongside this, we introduce another breathing practice which compliments Eagle’s Claw.

WEEK 5

Introducing to the last of the Four Pillars of Internal Alchemy – Microcosmic Orbit Meditation. We will begin with a detailed explanation of this subtle energetic system which will be put into practice through a guided meditation on the Lower Microcosmic Orbit.

WEEK 6

We continue our exploration of the microcosmic orbit, bringing more familiarity to the practice, deepening your experience of the role that this system plays in your energetic coherence and overall wellbeing.

WEEK 7

Special Weekend Intensive Practice – The Art of Breathing Part 1

WEEK 8

Special Weekend Intensive Practice – The Art of Breathing Part 2

WEEK 9

Expanding the Microcosmic Orbit part 1

WEEK 10

Further developing  the Microcosmic Orbit into the full circuit. A guided meditation will be shared introducing all the energy gates and the detailed pathway through which our energy circulates as it moves through the subtle body.

WEEK 11

As we enter the final weeks of the course, you will have the chance to continue your exploration of the practices learnt thus far. We will also share a video discourse by Burgs in which he offers guidance on the best approach to – and correct attitude towards – the Art of Internal Alchemy.

WEEK 12

In the last week, Burgs will bring the journey to a close with a discourse summing up Internal Alchemy as a whole, and the role that each of the individual practices play in informing and supporting each other. The live recording will conclude with a final meditative journey guided by Burgs through the Microcosmic Orbit.

Why would you join this course now?

Since the beginning of his teaching career almost 30 years ago, Burgs has framed the Dharma that he shares around the axis of healing. The initial 7day in-person retreats which he hosted monthly up until 2020 was the core foundation practice which he offered.

The Internal Alchemy works alongside our practice of meditation. As we continue to work at letting go the attachment and aversion in our mind, Internal Alchemy provides a way to develop the inner core of our body’s energetic system.

Some of you might remember the 60 day challenge hosted a few years ago. This new offering, initially breaks down the teachings, giving you the opportunity to learn each aspect of the course step by step to give a gentle way into the disciplines of these practices in a less intensive way.

The extraordinary thing about Internal Alchemy, is that while essentially it is preparation for higher and more rigorous spiritual practice, it can also be approached with an attitude of 'self-care' that helps nourish and revitalise your body. We will be offering this program with both principles in mind.

Burgs has extensive experience in being able to guide students to a place of acceptance and love in such a skilled and gentle way. For any interested in transformational practices in general, and those seeking more insight into the nature of the challenges they may be facing, this course can help start you on this journey of discovery.

Open to anyone that wants to learn about the healing potential of meditation.

This course is a curated programme that will be hosted through our online platform. Using material from previous retreats, whilst adding extra content, Burgs will guide you through the practices of Internal Alchemy as he learned from his chi kung teachers over the years.

The course will start on the 12th September 2026.
Following these series of lessons, released every Saturday, there will be an intensive online weekend retreat - The Art of Breathing to be shared at the end of October.

All the material for this course will be left available for students to use for two months after we finish the course. That will provide you time to catch up and/or review the teachings as needed.

How does it work?

  • Hosted on our dedicated online course website

  • Notification emails will be sent whenever a new lesson is published on the course page. (This will be sent to the registered email address on the course website).

  • All material will be added to the course page. So please log in to access the material. This will be presented as a mixture of video, audio and written material.

  • Guided Meditations that will be used during the course will be downloadable to use offline.

  • The weekend intensive retreats will be broadcast live through youtube, enabling you to ask questions via the live chat.

  • We will be starting the course on the weekend of 12th September 2026.

  • There will be a series of weekly lessons published on the course page. They will be published every Saturday morning. These can be followed at your own pace.

  • All material for the course will be left available for two months after we finish. Lessons will be available until the first week in July.

Course Pricing

  • This course is offered with an initial course fee, and then a donation at the end of the course.

  • Registration fee is £50

  • At the end of the course an opportunity to offer donation given at your discretion.

  • It feels more appropriate to continue to offer this work in this way rather than charge a fixed fee for it, as it allows everyone to participate regardless of their means. So please feel free to give donation in accordance with that and whatever value you feel you have gained from the teachings.

I can't join on the exact dates. Can I still join?

  • The course material will be left available for you to use for the duration of the course, and also for 2 months afterwards.

  • This gives anyone who needs time to catch up, or review any of the teachings, including the weekend intensives, time to do so.

  • All broadcast times for the intensive weekends are in the UK timezone. Those outside of this timezone can choose to follow in their own timezone if they wish, especially if you are in North America, Asia or Australia.

  • The weekly lessons are NOT ‘broadcast’. They are a series of self-paced lessons which will be published every saturday. You can follow these at any time during the week.

How much should I practice?

  • We recommend practising at least once a day, 3-4 times during the week if you can. This helps steer you towards a more immersive experience. Daily life however can get in the way, so do what you feel is best for you, according to your daily rhythm.

  • It is highly recommended to follow the intensive weekends as they are broadcast, although some of you may prefer to give time to absorb the teachings shared.

  • It is recommended to download the guided meditations from the lessons to practice with offline.

  • The movement exercises are available to watch online.

  • It is suggested that a journal may be useful during this course. More on this once we start.

Is this course for me?

  • Designed for beginners with no experience, as well as for those who have some meditation experience already.

  • You can use either a laptop, tablet or mobile to follow this course. It is recommended to use speakers rather than headphones to listen to the material.
