The Intention

We are looking for a group of meditator volunteers who want to come and help us give the space we have found a facelift. What we have here is a small hotel which is very simple and yet extremely functional. On the other hand, what we have found and what we want to share with others, is an incredible Dharma space that is held and supported by Burgs and the teachings he shares.

The intention for the space is to host small intimate retreats with either Burgs at the helm, or occasionally other teachers who are experts in what they share with others. There will also be space to offer those wishing to do self-retreat. And of course, the longer winter retreats will be hosted here aswell.

Dharma Service

Most of the work that needs to be done is relatively non-skilled tasks such as painting and cleaning both interior and exterior. There are more involved works for those of you with more handy skills (plumbing and electrics). There is also a call for those who are more skilful at marketing and other online presence to help get us on the map. But most of all, it’s the little things that are all around the place that just need a little lift and a little love.

Your day will be split between - one third service, one third practice, one third free time.

This will appeal to those of you who are drawn to the idea of combining periods of
sustained and supported practice with service.

This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to deepen their meditation over a sustained period whilst integrating their practice into daily life. And it is an amazing opportunity to contribute to a project that we hope will do so much for so many over the years to come.

When do we need your help?

We would like to offer the space for this working community from April through to early September.

You can volunteer for as little as 1 week, or decide to stay for 3 or 4 months, with all meals provided.
Priority will be given to those who wish to stay for longer periods of time.

We ask that volunteers pay for their time with us. This covers all bills and all meals during your stay.
The cost to stay with us for 1 month is €600
The cost to stay with us for 1 week is €150
The cost to stay with us for 2 weeks is €300

If all of this appeals to you then get in touch and please register your interest.

How else can you support us?

We are also reaching out to any of you who may not be able to contribute through doing service but who might like to support us through Dana (donation). We have a budget of £30,000 to do various works on the place. Much of this is being funded by Burgs and a small number of our generous Dharma friends.

If you would like to make a one-off donation towards this it would be received with immense gratitude.

Helping to build a dedicated Dharma centre where others can grow in Dharma is the merit of sharing Dharma with others, which itself is one of the highest merits.
